From the Art Director's Desk

2000; 21:352

As we approach the publishing of the two remaining issues of the Neuroendocrinology Letters for this year, and the second volume of the new Editorial concept of this Journal, we can start to sum up how the original vision has been fulfilled.

This was the vision of the indivisibility of science and art, philosophy and literature, psychology and other phenomena characterizing the unity of human functions representing the body and mind. It is that feeling of beauty of living, beauty of working, beauty of the senses, and the intellectual and emotional beauties of everyday life.

I feel that we have been successful in achieving this vision, and we intend to continue on this chosen path.

This unity of thoughts and feelings, exact science and expressions of poetry, literature and philosophy, characterizes the personality of the editorship of this Journal, which already was sawn by the founder of this Journal, Professor Derek Gupta, who himself, without expressing it on the pages of this Journal, was a l’homme de lettres, a poet and a philosopher. Recently his widow, Dr. Bakhti Datta-Gupta, has found some pieces of poetry and philosophy among his notes. We will publish some of them in the upcoming issues of the Neuroendocrinology Letters.

We would like to encourage our readership to contribute with poetry, art, literature, philosophy and thoughts, which will enhance and accomplish the above mentioned vision of the integrative and multidisciplinary character of this Journal.
